چکیده :

This study investigates the knowledge of digital games and attitudes toward digital gamification of MA TEFL students from Iraq and Iran studying in Iran University of Science and Technology, the use of digital gamification in language teaching. Students who participated in the study included 43 MA students who taught as teachers at the time of the research. A structured questionnaire including both quantitative and qualitative questions, regarding the knowledge of gamification principles and educational attitude toward it were answered. Results demonstrated the participants had a medium understanding of gamification and possessed positive perspectives on how this approach both encourages student motivation and improves their achievement. The qualitative findings uncovered substantial gaps in understanding along with cultural barriers that impeded progress, technical barriers and doubts concerning atypical learning approaches. The study confirms the requirement of specialized education about digital gamification with cultural understanding methods to establish successful adoption of digital gamification in language instruction. The research study delivers both practical utilization and adds to the expanding field of innovative teaching approaches.
